| The most efficient way to reduce the amount of waste being generated on the island is through prevention. Waste prevention is achieved by creating awareness in the community and emphasizing the importance of waste reduction. A high level of prevention can only be achieved with the cooperation of Curaçao’s inhabitants, companies and government. Selikor joins forces with organizations such as Fundashon Kòrsou Limpi Bunita, to educate and create awareness in the community in order to minimize the amount of waste generated on the island. Information sessions at schools, community centers and at the landfill are held and mass media is used to teach the community how to reduce waste. |
